FAQ
Good questions to ask
What is the difference between a realtor and a broker?
A REALTOR® is a real estate professional who belongs to the National Association of REALTORS®. A broker holds a higher level of real estate license. Marie is both: an Associate Broker and a REALTOR®, licensed in Michigan (#6506049771), with the MRP and ABR designations from the National Association of REALTORS®.
How much does it cost to use a REALTOR®?
Real estate fees are negotiable and depend on the services and representation you choose. Before we begin, we'll review my services, compensation, and your agreement so you understand the costs. If you're buying, we can request that the seller contribute toward your agent's fee, but the seller may decline.
How much do I need to close?
Your total depends on the home's price, your loan program, and the terms of your purchase. You'll generally need funds for your down payment and closing costs, including applicable prepaid taxes and insurance. Your earnest money deposit and any approved credits reduce the amount still due at closing. Your lender will provide an estimate early in the process and confirm the final amount before closing. We'll also help you plan for expenses paid along the way, such as inspections.
What do I look for in a lender?
Look for a lender who communicates clearly, explains your options, and can meet your closing timeline. Compare Loan Estimates from several lenders, paying attention to interest rates, fees, and total costs. You should feel comfortable asking questions and confident that you understand your monthly payment and how much money you'll need upfront.
